1. Who we are
Dockside Defense is a tropical island tower defense game published by Black Thorn Labs LLC. This policy applies to Dockside Defense and related support. Contact us at durian@blackthornlabsgames.com.
2. Information used by the current build
Local gameplay and save data
The game stores progression, virtual currency, unlocked items, timers, graphics and gameplay settings, and notification preferences locally on your device. This information is not currently synchronized to a production online account service.
Optional rewarded advertising
Dockside Defense may offer optional rewarded ads through Google Mobile Ads. Google's User Messaging Platform may present consent choices where required. When an ad feature is used, Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, IP address, device and operating system details, consent signals, approximate location inferred from IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics, and fraud-prevention signals under their own policies.
Availability and rewards may vary. Test ads do not mean that no data is processed. We do not enable cross-app tracking without the disclosures and permissions required by Apple and applicable law.
Local notifications
If you allow notifications, the game can schedule reminders locally on your iPhone. These are device notifications, not messages sent through a production push-notification account service. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings.
Support
If you contact support, we process the information you choose to send, such as your email address, device details, screenshots, and a description of the problem.
3. Features not currently enabled
Dockside Defense does not currently use a production online account, team, leaderboard, score, cloud-save, or purchase service. We do not claim live in-app purchases, live player-versus-player play, or a deployed production backend.
If online accounts, teams, scores, cloud saves, or purchases are enabled in a future release, this policy will be updated before those services are offered. The updated policy will explain the data involved, purposes, service providers, retention, and deletion choices.
4. Why information is used
- Run the game, save local progress, and apply settings.
- Deliver optional rewarded ads and remember consent choices.
- Schedule local reminders when you enable notifications.
- Prevent abuse, investigate technical problems, and answer support requests.
- Meet platform and legal requirements.
5. Providers and sharing
Apple may process device, notification, and App Store information under its own policies. Google Mobile Ads, the User Messaging Platform, and participating ad providers may process advertising and consent information when those features are used. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the game, or our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Depending on your region and the advertising configuration, privacy laws may classify some advertising disclosures as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising.
6. Retention and security
Local game data remains on your device until it is reset, overwritten, or removed. Deleting the app generally removes its local container, although an iPhone or iCloud backup may retain a copy depending on your Apple settings. Apple, Google, and advertising partners control retention for information they process under their policies.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
7. Your choices
- Do not start a rewarded ad if you do not want to use the ad feature.
- Use any consent choices presented in the app and the privacy controls available in iOS.
- Turn Dockside Defense notifications on or off in iOS Settings.
- Delete the app to remove its local game container, subject to your device and iCloud backup settings.
- Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection where applicable.
Because the current save is local and there is no production account backend, Black Thorn Labs LLC may not possess information that identifies your local save.
8. Children and changes
Dockside Defense is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy when the game, its providers, or legal requirements change. We will revise the date above and provide appropriate notice for material changes.
